With the bankruptcy of Delphi, it is becoming very apparent that Unions
don't work in a global economy. Even government Unions could collapse if
those jobs are contracted out, an open to competitive bidding. Your welfare
case worker could be from India, and the Firemen could be contracted out to
a company from Thailand. All the trouble in Europe, is due to their archaic
economic model that is based on Socialism and Union labor. As the global
economy closes in, chaos reigns as the inflexibility of Socialism and Union
Labor leads to inevitable social disturbances. The only way Europe can
survive, is by junking their welfare states and dissolving their Unions. If
not, they will have to build a Euro wall, not unlike the Berlin wall, and
drop out of the global economy. Argentina has dropped out, and although the
people's standard of living is 1/3 of what it was before, they were able to
preserve their Socialism and Unions. They were willing to live in poverty,
in order to preserve their social justice.
