Discussion:
Invasion of Iran, only weeks away.

To finally correct the mistakes of the Carter administration, the US
military is now preparing for the inevitable invasion of Iran, that is only
weeks away. Tactical nuclear weapons are now in theater, to obliterate the
predictable Iranian military response. It is now the time to let these
folks back up their threats, with action.
The journalists, the oppostion party, are now starting the spin that the
Iranian invasion is about Bush getting his poll numbers up, and a way to
change the subject. How the country tolerates these traitors is beyond me.

Wanna see some liberal heads explode? Wait till Bush goes in there WITH our

The ones that fought with the US today, and the ones that would gladly sign
up to go into Iran and help the US remove a direct threat to their country.

Hey, lookee here!!! Iran willing to talk to US about Iraq.... hmmm....
wouldn't have anything to do with the US being Iraq's biggest ally in the
middle east and vice versa would it:

You mean the 1/2 of the 1500 troops that are fighting? That makes Iraq
have 750 troops. The questions stands...what Iraq army?

O'Reilly sweep: Olbermann gives O'Reilly bronze, silver, and gold medals for
"Worst Person in the World"

From the November 30 edition of MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann:

KEITH OLBERMANN (host): But first, time for Countdown's list of today's
three
nominees for the coveted title of "Worst Person in the World."

The bronze goes to Bill O'Reilly. He has solidified in his status as this
generation's Joe McCarthy. Just like the "Red Baiter," he now has his
own list.
His website reads: "The following media operations have regularly helped
distribute defamation and false information supplied by far left Web
sites." The
list: the New York Daily News, the St. Petersburg Times, and MSNBC! You
call it
defamation, Bill. We call it precise quotes from your show.

The runner-up: Bill O'Reilly. On the Today show, no less. Now how the
hell did
that happen? Says, quote, "These pinheads running around going, 'Get out
of Iraq
now,' don't know what they're talking about. These are the same people
before
Hitler invaded in World War II that were saying, 'Ah, he's not such a
bad guy.'
" Watch. That will turn up tomorrow on his list of defamations.

But tonight's winner: Bill O'Reilly! You know this whole attack on Christmas
nonsense that he made up? Some sort of fantasy in which the liberals are
coming
to your town to force you and your family to not call it Christmas
anymore? The
fantasy that we can't say "Merry Christmas," but you can only say "Happy
Holidays"? The thing designed to stir up religious hatred and paranoia
in this
country? Guess what they're selling over at the Fox News online store?
The Fox
News "Holiday" ornament! And the O'Reilly Factor "Holiday" ornament. Who is
trying to change "Merry Christmas" into "Happy Holidays"? Bill O'Reilly,
that's
who. Today's worst person in the world!

What a fucking idiotic premise. Iraq can't even keep its OWN
peace, let alone be involved in an invasion of Iran.

No wonder you right wing zeroes are all perceived as idiots.

Study: U.S. Middle East policy
motivated by pro-Israel lobby

By Shmuel Rosner, Haaretz Correspondent

WASHINGTON -

The U.S. Middle East policy is not
in America's national interest and
is motivated primarily by the country's
pro-Israel lobby,

according to a study published Thursday
by researchers from Harvard University
and the University of Chicago.

Observers in Washington said Thursday
that the study was liable to stir up a
tempest and spur renewed debate about
the function of the American Israel
Public Affairs Committee lobby.

The Fatah office in Washington
distributed the article to an
extensive mailing list.

"No lobby has managed to divert U.S.
foreign policy as far from what the
American national interest would
otherwise suggest,

while simultaneously convincing Americans
that U.S. and Israeli interests are
essentially identical,"

write the authors of the study.

To read Shmuel Rosner's
blog on this topic, click here.

John J. Mearsheimer from the
University of Chicago's political
science department and

Stephen M. Walt from Harvard's
John F. Kennedy School of Government
do not present new facts.

They rely mainly on an analysis
of Israeli and American newspaper
reports and studies,

along with the findings of
the Israeli human rights
group B'Tselem.

The study also documents accusations
that American supporters of Israel
pushed the United States into war
with Iraq.

It lists senior Bush administration
officials who supported the war and
are also known to support Israel,
such as

Paul Wolfowitz,
Doug Feith and
David Wurmser.

The authors say the influence
of the pro-Israel lobby is a
source of serious concern and
write that it has even caused
damage to Israel by preventing
it from reaching a compromise
with its neighbors.
